About Patrick

Patrick Scanlon is a sports broadcaster and reporter from Coral Springs, Florida. He is a sports reporter at a paid internship for WESH NBC Orlando during the Fall, covering Florida Gators football, Tampa Bay Buccaneers football, UCF football, and Orlando Magic basketball.

He got his Master’s in Broadcast and Digital Journalism at Syracuse University (‘25) on the Sports Communication Track. He graduated from Villanova University in '24 as a Communication Major with Specializations in Journalism, Public Relations, and Media Production.

At Syracuse, he was a sports reporter for ACC Network shows, giving pregame reports and interviewing players/coaches. He hosted an ESPN Syracuse 97.7 radio show, and wrote articles for CBBReview.com. He travels across the east coast covering college basketball for the site, both writing and on social media (@CBBRoadtrip on TikTok and Instagram). He ended his time at Syracuse reporting on New England Patriots Training Camp for WPRI - Providence’s CBS affiliate.

He served as play-by-play commentator for Villanova basketball and football on their student radio station (WXVU 89.1), where he provided quality production and game broadcasts to upwards of 112 countries. He also worked as a Sports Production Intern at NBC Sports Philadelphia, documenting highlights and putting together footage for their daily broadcasts.
